Wide Open Illegal Police Surveillance In Florida

Politicians have approved the use of an armored truck to monitor the citizens living in St. Petersburg, Florida. It has cameras pointing in every direction, and is surrounded by bullet resistant glass. It can be parked virtually anywhere in the city to spy on residents, and local police would control this equipment.

In addition, many cameras located in the downtown section, those left due to the massive surveillance during the Republican Convention, are now also operable, and even more cameras will be placed downtown in the near future.

One of the local political scum, city council member Karl (appropriate spelling) Nurse, said: “This is exactly what I wanted.” Chief of police Chuck Harmon, told the city council that “the privacy of law-abiding citizens has been considered.” Not hardly!

The political ruling class is of course claiming that this is strictly for public safety, and will help deter drug dealers and prostitution. But will it do so? Absolutely not!

If an obvious police truck loaded with surveillance cameras is parked at a certain location, any who desire to not be seen will just go to a different location. This is not rocket science. Yes, a few ignoramuses will be caught, but over all, only one thing will change.

That is: The people living in St Petersburg will become more accustomed to being watched by the government and the police. The real reason for this invasion has nothing to do with stopping crime, if in fact one considers drugs and prostitution as criminal, it has only to do with indoctrinating the general citizenry into accepting this criminal invasion of privacy. Control is the objective sought.

Many grow weary of hearing about the slippery slope of liberty destruction, but that slope is now completely covered with ice. What will begin with a couple of dozen cameras spying indiscriminately upon the innocent, will quickly turn into total surveillance of all. With 30,000 plus drones slated to be in the skies in the next few years, all that is left for the State to accomplish is to gain acceptance by the sheeplike masses of surveillance for their “safety.” That mission is fast becoming reality, and what is going on in St. Pete is just the next cog in the wheel of tyranny.

The State and its agents of force, due to their rules and regulations, their prohibition practices, their gun control, their endless laws against harmless behavior, and their police state tactics, have made this country a much more dangerous place to live. In other words, they have created the problems, they have created the risk, and now they are saying that they are the ones who should take control of all, and watch all, in order to keep us safe.

Does this sound familiar? It should, because this is exactly the way the mob works. The mob creates the threat, and then charges extortion money to protect from the threat. The state is no different than the mob, and should be marginalized at every opportunity. From my perspective, marginalizing is not enough, elimination is a better way!
