U.S. “Justice” Department Expands Theft By Forced Takings

According to this article in the Washington Times, the Obama “Justice” Department has vastly expanded, apparently by “executive decree,” the power for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to take any property from anyone suspected of being involved in “controlled substance abuses.” That means that the private property of anyone who is suspected, but has never been charged or convicted of a substance crime, could be stolen “legally” by government.

Government agencies of force, including local, state, and federal police, have been stealing the property of private citizens for a long time, but this decree allows for theft at a grand level, all without proof of a crime, without any due process, without any charge, and without any conviction. This is an open-ended invitation for massive abuse by the state bureaucracies.

This is the epitome of guilty until proven innocent, but charges do not even have to be filed against anyone by the ATF or other corrupt government agencies in order for this forceful confiscation. If in fact a citizen’s private property is taken in this manner, it is his responsibility to hire attorneys, and sue to gain entry to a corrupt court, just to retrieve his stolen property. This is tyrannical and insane! This is simply a for profit thievery by the state, made legal by the Obama administration and his “Justice” Department.

From the article mentioned above:

The rule extending civil-forfeiture power to the ATF recognizes this dynamic, stating with perhaps unconscious cynicism that an uncontested civil forfeiture “can be perfected for minimal cost” compared to the “hundreds or thousands of dollars” and “years” needed for judicial forfeiture. Nowhere is there any recognition of the burden placed on innocent citizens stripped of their property, or of the erosion of their civil liberties. In fact, the rule argues that, because in the past the ATF could turn over requests for civil forfeiture to the Drug Enforcement Administration, there has been no change in “individual rights.”

We live now in a total police state that is ever expanding its power; mostly by dictatorial fiat. Nothing is safe in this country today, and in my opinion, this situation, as bad as it is, will get much, much worse in the future. We all must be vigilant in our efforts to stop the state dead in its tracks. Without mass dissent, and without mass outrage, this civil liberty destruction will grow exponentially, and all of us will be trapped in a country bent on total control of its citizens.

The water is well on its way to becoming a boil. When that occurs, it will be too late to get out of the water!
