U.S. Intervention Causes Blowback

The United States government and its military choose to intervene, both politically and with forceful aggression, on a constant basis worldwide; especially in the Middle East. That has been the agenda of this evil government for a long, long time. Because of this intervention policy, U.S. interests overseas have been attacked, and given the massive aggression that continues by the U.S., these attacks will only continue. Without this constant interference with other countries, would America be safer? You bet it would!

In Jacob Hornberger’s blog today, he makes a very convincing and legitimate comparison; a comparison that is factual in nature, and one that should convince all that intervention and empirical desires serve only to eventually come back to cause great harm to the aggressor. This is called blowback, and it is a dire consequence of past and current U.S. policy. While no actual terrorist attack on innocents is ever warranted or moral, regardless of the criminal nature of the U.S. government, these attacks should be fully expected.

What if the U.S. was not an aggressor nation? What if the U.S. and its military did not prosecute continuous wars of aggression? What if the U.S. did not interfere with the business of other countries, and did not build military bases or house troops in any other country? What if the U.S. did not levy any devastating economic sanctions? What if?

Jacob Hornberger of The Future Of Freedom Foundation (FFF) answers this question with his valid comparison:

“The New York Times reports that the Pentagon and the CIA are preparing plans to target suspects in the murder of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and two colleagues in Libya with assassination by drone. The process is a classic example of how interventionism spirals out of control.”

Notice that it wasn’t a Swiss ambassador who got attacked. It was an American ambassador. Was this simply a coincidence? Of course it wasn’t. The reason that it wasn’t the Swiss ambassador who got attacked and killed is because the Swiss government hasn’t intervened in Libya and the rest of the Middle East. It doesn’t maintain military bases in other countries. It doesn’t police the world. It doesn’t engage in regime change. It doesn’t invade and occupy foreign countries. It doesn’t kidnap people, torture them, incarcerate them without trial, or execute them. It doesn’t sanction or embargo other countries. It doesn’t try to force other countries to bend to its will. It doesn’t bribe foreign regimes into doing what it wants. It doesn’t enter into partnerships with brutal dictatorships. The Swiss government minds its own business. It devotes itself to the genuine defense of its own country.

Because of the Swiss policy of complete non-intervention, it is not warred against or involved in war. It is not attacked. It is not the recipient of terrorist attacks. The people of Switzerland simply are prepared to defend themselves; if and only if they are aggressively attacked, but that doesn’t happen. Because of this, the Swiss people and their country remain safe and prosperous. Theirs is a much better way.

The sad reality is that the United States of today stands for aggression, empire, torture, sanction, war, murder, and more intervention. That recipe can lead only to disaster. Until the U.S. government and its military are forced to stand down, and to no longer aggress or interfere with any other country on earth, we all will be subject to blowback. We will continue to be hated, and with good reason, by most of the rest of the world. “We” will continue to live in fear. We will not be safe, and we will not be free!
