The plight of Julian Assange continues to worsen. Some believe that he will have his day in court, but the odds of fair and impartial treatment for Assange are in my opinion zero.
In a story on Drudge this morning, it was revealed that the U.S. Justice Department named Julian Assange in a court filing. While this was supposedly a mistake, he was named, and this is very telling.
“In one sentence, the prosecutor wrote that the charges and arrest warrant “would need to remain sealed until Assange is arrested in connection with the charges in the criminal complaint and can therefore no longer evade or avoid arrest and extradition in this matter.” In another sentence, the prosecutor said that “due to the sophistication of the defendant and the publicity surrounding the case, no other procedure is likely to keep confidential the fact that Assange has been charged.”
I believe that procedures are already in place to arrest Assange and charge him with crimes against the state. I also suspect that deals have been made by the U.S. with Ecuador and the U.K. Once Assange is turned over by Ecuador, the British authorities will arrest him and extradite him to the U.S. As I see it, his life will be over if this happens.
Virtually everyone in Washington is afraid of what Assange knows and can verify. Clinton, much of Congress, the CIA, and even Trump are all gunning for him. What chance does Assange have given his enemies. All of his enemies are also enemies of all of us, and they will not risk being exposed once they have their hands on this persecuted truth teller.
There are reasons why the Military Commissions Act was implemented in 2006 and why it remains in place today. It allows for the “legal” torture or execution of Assange. The only defense Assange has at this point is public opinion, and what hope is that given the ignorance and apathy of the average American sheep?
At this time, the only hope for Assange in my opinion is a daring escape and safe passage out of the U.K. That seems to be the only possible option for this hero.
