A heavily armed SWAT team dressed in full body armor raided and stole files from the Maryland home of Audrey Hudson, an investigative journalist. At one time she had been an investigative journalist for the Washington Times, but currently is a freelance reporter.
The horrendous Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the cretinous Maryland State Police were responsible for the armed raid of Hudson’s home on August 6th of this year. The raid was of course prosecuted in the wee hours of the morning, a tactic that is becoming common by the thugs in armored state garb. It doesn’t matter if the raid is against what is said to be a hardened and violent criminal or an innocent news reporter or other serf thought to belong to the state.
In this case, these uniformed criminal types did have a search warrant, but that warrant according to The Daily Caller, specified only for a search for firearms. The warrant was nothing more than a sham, and supposedly based on the premise that her husband, Paul Flanagan, had resisted arrest 26 years before this raid, and was not allowed to have weapons in his home. How likely is it that this was an lawful warrant? Zero chance in my opinion. Those armed goons took several private documents, private notes and very sensitive information regarding Hudson’s sources and whistleblowers inside the government. There was nothing whatsoever in the warrant allowing for any search other than for firearms, but the DHS got what they came for with the help of a corrupt judge and without any legal right to do so.
It is painfully obvious that this raid was intended to affect very specific goals, none of which were honest, and that a search for weapons was but an excuse to gain access to private papers and to get a list of informants and whistle blowers who posed a risk to this tyrannical surveillance state. These are the tactics of a powerful authoritarian regime, not of a benevolent representative government.
The blatant disregard by the state gendarmes for any adherence to the “law” is obvious here, and of course any expectation of privacy concerning one’s home, papers and effects is now lost.
Those who believe in and work toward a free society, those who are willing to expose the lawlessness and lies of the government and any who dare to find evidence of corruption, cover up, conspiracy and worse by the state are now targets for illegal searches, false prosecution, character assassination or death. Just consider certain recent events concerning investigative journalists and whistleblowers.
This criminal government and its agents of force in state costumes are now a threat to all aspects of freedom and liberty. They are not only capable, but likely to use lies and deadly force in order to silence anyone brave enough to expose them. The only way to overcome the risk posed by the ruling class in government is to educate the masses by delivering the truth. Sheer numbers of people alone who question the legitimacy of government are a direct threat to its power.
The more of us that dissent, the less chance there is of state abuse. The state simply cannot continue its assault on the natural rights of men if enough of us stand up and say no more. By exposing the corrupt nature of the government, by exposing the crimes of the state and by telling the truth, the government will be greatly harmed. That harm will lead directly to a reduction of power of the totalitarian political class. If enough of us stand against the travesty of government, its demise becomes possible.
