There was an article by Rob Waugh at MailOnline yesterday titled: “The CIA wants to spy on you through your TV: Agency director says it will ‘transform’ surveillance.”
“Spies will no longer have to plant bugs in your home – the rise of ‘connected’ gadgets controlled by apps will mean that people ‘bug’ their own homes, says CIA director David Petraeus.”
The CIA spys on us all the time, but technology and no respect for the privacy of the individual, is allowing that government agency to become even more intrusive. CIA director David Petraeus, no friend to freedom or liberty, was speaking at a venture capital firm recently, and said spies will no longer have to plant bugs in your home, because of the massive rise of connections controlled by apps. They are in everything today, from small and large appliances to televisions. The CIA claims it will be able to ‘read’ these devices via the internet – and perhaps even via radio waves from outside the home.
Regardless of the technological advances, the CIA has no business spying on any American unless cause has been shown and a warrant has been issued.
These types of stories will become much more common as time goes by, but the watchdogs and the power brokers in government will continue to monitor our behavior as if we were infants. The more they know, the easier it is for them to control us you see, and the advances in technology will simply make it easier for them to know all.
Petraeus spoke proudly of this capability, and boasted that the CIA could monitor people automatically, and without breaking and entering. How convenient! There will be no need to show cause, and no need to issue any warrants when all we do is watched and databased. This invasion of our privacy has to be stopped!
