Surveillance And More Surveillance In The U.S. Police State

In Oakland, California, privacy has become a thing of the past. As I have discussed over and over again, local and state police due to federal dollars are fast becoming nothing more than domestic militarized forces bent on surveillance and heavily armed SWAT raids. Now, Oakland has become the newest privacy destroying city in the country.

Federal money in the form of “grants” for $7 million were recently given to this city for supposed terror attack protection. That of course is simply the cover excuse for more invasions on the liberty of Oakland residents. The money in question is being funneled to a local police initiative for the express purpose of spying on the local residents. According to this story in the New York Times, the money will be used to:

“collect and analyze reams of surveillance data from around town — from gunshot-detection sensors in the barrios of East Oakland to license plate readers mounted on police cars patrolling the city’s upscale hills.”

With the advanced technology of today, the State’s agents of force in the local and state police are being showered with federal funding meant to federalize surveillance and police state invasions against American citizens instead of some make believe invading hoard of terrorists. The terrorist angle is only used as the excuse to implement extreme domestic military tactics. This system of local spying and surveillance in Oakland is slated to begin next summer.

Basically everything can be monitored for data collection by the police from “social media posts to look for evidence of criminal activities; transportation agencies can track commuters’ toll payments when drivers use an electronic pass; and the National Security Agency, as news reports this summer revealed, scooped up telephone records of millions of cellphone customers in the United States.”

What is happening in Oakland is also happening all around this country. Places like New York, Massachusetts and Texas, as well as many, many other areas of the country, are being equipped with surveillance systems including cameras, license plate readers, radiation sensors, criminal and alleged terror suspect lists and even drones meant specifically for domestic police use.

The agenda of the feds is to equip and train the local and state authorities to spy on and collect data about its residents. By using local ‘assets’ for this surveillance, the local police become the eyes and ears of the federal government.

This is also huge business for all those companies, companies like IBM and others, who make data tools for these government projects. That in itself is now a multi-billion dollar business, all at taxpayer expense. This is no coincidence, but a planned money making and money transfer scheme.

These systems being built today have the capability to gather and capture a massive amount of data that is immediately analyzed and stored for future use by state agents. Besides all the capabilities mentioned above, police will be able to tap into all reports of 911 calls, school surveillance cameras, and rail and transportation video data and state highway monitoring “may’ be added soon. In other words, every single aspect of the lives of innocent citizens will be monitored, saved and databased.

The only way to stop these state assaults on freedom and privacy is for large numbers of the populace to demand that these invasions cease immediately. If apathy continues to be the norm, all will suffer under the Gestapo like rule of the U.S. police state! Those consequences could be dire, and the end results deadly!
