By now, everyone is aware that Rand Paul endorsed Mitt Romney for president while his father Ron was, albeit for naught, still in the race.
Due to Rand’s endorsement of Romney, many Ron Paul supporters are now very upset that they donated money to Ron Paul’s campaign, but that is an unfair position to take. Ron Paul is the father of Rand, he is not his controller. Rand Paul is a simple Republican politician. He is not libertarian, and he is not principled. Blaming Ron Paul makes no sense.
Rand Paul’s endorsement of the cretin neocon Romney should have been expected. It certainly did not surprise me, but then his actions have told the story for a long time. Anyone paying attention should have known that he is a party hack first, and seeks more power. Had he not thrown his support behind Romney, he would have been penalized by the Republican Party in the future. His move was simply political, and proves he will take the low road every time if he feels that a principled position will harm him politically. He is little different than his Republican counterparts, and now should be marginalized at every turn by any honest libertarian.
