Political Protests To Be Outlawed!

Another nail in the coffin of any right to protest the political class, and another nail in the coffin of the First Amendment, has been driven by your, not my, representatives (so-called) in Congress.

House Bill, H.R. 347, was passed virtually without any opposition in the House of Representatives by a vote of 388-3. This piece of legislation will serve to ban anyone from “knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so.”

This act is known as “The Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011,” and is meant to amend Section 1752 of Title 18 of the United States Code. As usual, the intent is to “strengthen” the language, and this of course is done by broadening the language so much that it can be interpreted any way the government chooses. In this case, anything and everything can be restricted due to the loosening of the rules. Those who:

`(2) knowingly, and with intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, engages in disorderly or disruptive conduct in, or within such proximity to, any restricted building or grounds when, or so that, such conduct, in fact, impedes or disrupts the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions;

`(3) knowingly, and with the intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, obstructs or impedes ingress or egress to or from any restricted building or grounds; or

`(4) knowingly engages in any act of physical violence against any person or property in any restricted building or grounds; or attempts or conspires to do so, shall be punished as provided in subsection (b).

This pretty much is inclusive of any activity, and certainly would restrict any protest that the government chose to restrict, and anywhere in the U.S.! Any offenders could face prison time up to ten years.

This modern legislation is akin to rules that protected the monarchs of old, and it restricts any open speech against the state by the citizenry. This is not the first step nor the last to destroy freedom, but this tyrannical ruling class is hell bent on protecting themselves from scrutiny, and squelching all dissent by us serfs.

This is sedition, nothing less. What will be next? Maybe this blog!
