An article from NBC News reports that two Senators, Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Pat Toomey (R-PA) have reached a deal to allow background checks on all gun sales at gun shows and also for online sales.
These two Senators fully agreed to expand background checks, although not quite at the level that Obama desired, but his agenda is going forward nonetheless due to so-called party compromise. In reality, the agendas of both parties are nearly identical, so is compromise really an accurate statement?
Both of these trimmers have received an A rating from the NRA; the same NRA who claims that it is against any background expansion. The NRA however has a long history of “compromise” as well, so they may in the end sign on to this deal that could lead to more confiscation in the future.
Toomey it is claimed is a “conservative” Republican, but that rarely matters when the party structure is working toward the same ends, albeit by claiming different lies. The final agenda and outcome of politics is always the same. It is to gain more power, more control, more regulations, more spending, more revenue, more warmongering, and to continually expand the size and scope of government, regardless of which particular party is in power. This is not arguable, because all these things have happened during every past administration and Congress, and continue in that vein today.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that Republicans and Democrats claim to be enemies, or that one is supposedly left and the other right. The two parties are one and the same and seek an almost identical agenda. So this country is truly a one party system.
Now they apparently agree on gun control. Are you surprised? I am not!
Keep your eyes on what happens here. The Senators on both sides will feign much argument, and some on both sides will accept the compromise. Already, 10 Republican Senators have refused to filibuster this gun control effort, and others are on the opposite side. This is normal, but the final verdict, whether this particular deal goes forward or not, has already been agreed upon in my opinion. How else could tens of thousands of anti-gun laws already be on the books?
Liars all!
UPDATE: This legislation was just cleared for debate with a 68 to 31 vote in the Senate! 16 Republicans voted for it!
