Obama’s Pandering Ends in Doing Something Right!

Finally, Obama has swerved into doing something that is actually good. While nearly impossible to comprehend, he has done it nonetheless.

Much to the dismay of those “freedom-loving” (so-called) right wingers, the Obama administration has decided not to prosecute young “illegal” immigrants who arrived in the United States before they were 16, are studying in a U.S. university, or who have “served” in the U.S. armed forces.

While this is most definitely politically motivated, it is still a very small step in the right direction. Any move to loosen restrictions for those entering this country to find work or to gain a new life, should be applauded.

Of course, I would want to see, within reason of course, fully open boarders, but that will not happen until real freedom has been restored. And by real freedom, I mean a stateless or nearly stateless society.

A pipe dream you say? Probably, but one must have hope.

Update: I should have mentioned that Obama’s executive order exempting “illegal” immigrants from deportation is fully unconstitutional. That does not change my opinion that it is the right thing to do, but it still should have been done by Congress, not an imperial executive.
