“The state lies in all the tongues of good and evil, and whatever it says is lies, and whatever it has, it has stolen, everything it is, is false, it bites with stolen teeth, and it bites often, it is false down to its bowels.”
~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, Also Sprach Zarathustra [1896]
It looks like the White House’s entire original explanation about the Libyan attack on the American Embassy has fallen apart. It really never fell apart though, as it was most likely a lie from the beginning. Some have said that the story presented by the Obama administration was what they wished had happened, but that excuse cannot explain away the deception. The ruse that all this was due to a movie never held water.
Now, of course, the attack has been blamed on al Qaeda, and is being treated as an act of terrorism. That’s not rocket science, as any attack for political reasons meant to frighten, harm. or kill innocents, “terrorize” in other words, is certainly an act of terror.
But when these acts occur in retaliation to acts of terror perpetrated by the U.S. and its military due to aggressive and unwarranted war and occupation, blowback in other words, no one is willing to admit to that reasoning. It is simply too uncomfortable for the political elite. It is much easier to label all attacks on Americans overseas as random acts of terrorism, caused by movies or hatred of our freedoms. The truth is unacceptable to those in the government, because if the truth were known, it could endanger their powerful positions.
Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive. ~Sir Walter Scott
