It is a foregone conclusion that the current military regime in Egypt is fully supported and funded by the U.S. government. As the very best real investigative journalist in that region, Eric Margolis, stated in this recent article at Lew Rockwell:
“This is the third fairly elected Arab government to be overthrown or besieged, like Gaza, by Western-backed military regimes.”
Egypt’s 440,000-man armed forces is joined at the hip with the Pentagon which controls its arms, funding, training, high tech equipment, promotion lists, spare parts and munitions supply, the latter two always kept in short supply.
So the U.S. is backing this Egyptian military rule, and in fact was likely the most instrumental in the overthrow of the democratically elected Mohamed Morsi. That regime change was affected with the help of the U.S. and its puppet allies, and has brought a bloodbath to the Morsi supporters in that country. Their spilled blood is on the hands of the U.S. government!
Of course, due to the brutality now going on in Egypt, the Obama administration and the rest of Washington D.C. have denounced the coup that took place allowing this military rule. Should the administration admit that the regime change and military takeover was a coup orchestrated by the U.S., the $1.3 billion coming from the U.S. to fund the Egyptian armed forces would have to end. That would not suit the agenda of the U.S. government and its partners in crime.
Those protesters in Egypt who back Morsi and want a return to a democratic government are literally being slaughtered by the U.S. backed military rulers. All who do not accept the new military dictatorial government are considered terrorists, as Eric Margolis pointed out in his article, and thousands of Egyptian civilians, men, women and children, are being wounded or murdered. Those with rocks to throw have little chance against the U.S. funded killing machine.
The U.S. government is no stranger when it comes to supporting brutal regimes, and will fully back the horrible dictator, Hosni Mubarak, should he be released from jail to once again take over Egypt.
Any feigned sympathy paid by the Obama administration as to the horrible plight of the Egyptian people should be ignored. The real agenda of Obama is to back completely this Egyptian military regime. It is also the agenda of the Pentagon, and much of the rest of the U.S. government apparatus. The blood of unarmed innocents in Egypt is flowing freely, and that carnage and bloodshed is due in large part to U.S. funding and support of monsters who do the bidding of the U.S. government!
