Every time I see a sensationalizing headline in what I consider the mainstream press, and that certainly includes most “independent” news organizations, I cringe. I cringe due not so much to my disgust and contempt for these agitatators for aggression, and not even due to my understanding that what they “report” are lies, but because of how these falsehoods are perceived by the ignorant masses.
The common man for lack of a better description, is gullible and apathetic to a degree that is almost beyond imagination. This fact leads to the widespread acceptance of a tyrannical, warmongering and totalitarian state. This reality could never occur given that even a modest number of individuals were educated in the ways of freedom and liberty, and understood that the basis of life and natural rights is the belief in the non-aggression principle. But alas, that level of education has managed to escape the masses almost since the beginning of time.
Today’s headline comes from the dishonest mainstream propaganda publication WND, which in the past went by the name World Net Daily. That headline reads:
“Iran ‘2 To 3 Weeks’ From Nuclear Bomb”
This headline and the accompaning story are meant only to scare the reader into believing that Iran is preparing to nuke the United States at any moment. It is completely false, irresponsible and propagated due to outside influence from government and its military industrial complex. There is no evidence to support the notion that Iran has ever attempted to build a nuclear weapon, but the U.S. and its allies and all those who are threatened by the U.S., continue to commit acts of war against Iran in the form of brutal sanctions.
WND claims in its mission statement that it is an “independent news company dedicated to uncompromising journalism, seeking truth and justice and revitalizing the role of the free press as a guardian of liberty. We remain faithful to the traditional and central role of a free press in a free society – as a light exposing wrongdoing, corruption and abuse of power.
“We also seek to stimulate a free-and-open debate about the great moral and political ideas facing the world and to promote freedom and self-government by encouraging personal virtue and good character.”
That statement is nonsense, and all these claims are false down to the bowels of that corrupt and state worshiping organization. WND is nothing if not an arm of the state and its insidious drive for imperialism, war and totalitarianism. Their reports and articles should be discarded as lies and agenda driven propaganda.
Iran has every right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes under the International Non-Proliferation Treaty, a treaty that Israel has not and will not sign. Iran also has the natural right to build these weapons for self defense, even if only to protect itself from the aggressor nations of the United States and Israel. While I don’t believe in the use of nuclear weapons and would want all destroyed worldwide, the ugly truth of the matter is that due to the now large number of nuclear nations, that prospect has grown dim.
What is the bottom line? Iran has not attacked, aggressively or not, any other country in well over 100 years. Iran has only attacked one country in the past 300 years, and that was to reclaim its own land. The U.S. on the other hand, has either been at war, or been preparing for new aggressions 240 times in the past 237 years. The United States according to research done by Yuri Skidanov, has used military force abroad 240 times since 1798. And of course, the U.S. forced a war against Iran by using Sadaam and Iraq, supplying them with weapons, including horrible chemical weapons.
Anyone familiar with U.S. history would never doubt these numbers. Just consider how many countries are under U.S. threat currently.
Which country is the real terrorist nation? Which is the real imperialist and warmonger? Is the threat of nuclear war more likely to be waged by the only country on earth to ever purposely use such a weapon to murder over 200,000 innocent women and children? Or is it Iran, the country that has not attacked any other aggressively for 300 years? You decide.
