An MSNBC headline today reads: Report: Iran using passenger jets to smuggle weapons to Syria, Lebanon.
The opening sentence states:
“Iran’s government has repeatedly used commercial aircraft to smuggle weapons and explosives to Syria and Lebanon, the German broadcaster ZDF reported Wednesday.”
There are multiple problems with this opening. First, there is absolutely no evidence supplied to support this erroneous claim. I have no way of knowing of any accuracy, but the article cites “Western security sources and unspecified information. After saying that no supportive evidence exists, the article goes on to state Iran has repeatedly used passenger planes to transport weapons, but the so-called report had no idea the type of weaponry involved.
This is very irresponsible reporting, and I use that term very loosely. ZDF, an affiliate of NBC, went on to say that these phantom weapons were “supposedly” ordered by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. This was followed by the claim that they support a terrorist group in Lebanon. No information, no specifics, no reference material, and absolutely no proof were mentioned, but the story was published nonetheless.
What was not said was that the U.S. supports more terrorist groups, more brutal dictators, and more tyrannical regimes than all others on earth combined. Let us not forget the U.S. support for Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Hosni Mubarak, and Muammar Gaddafi, just to name a few.
The U.S.and its military are killing and maiming innocents in countries all over the Middle East, and continue to arm those it supports in that region, including Syrian rebels; at least indirectly. The hypocrisy here is astounding. It would be my wish that none of these wars were going on, and that no countries were being funded by any other for the purpose of making war. But would any of this be happening in the first place, if the U.S. were not there interfering and aggressively warring against those who had never attacked us? I think not!
These reports, whether true or not, are meant to antagonize, and are meant to frighten the American masses into supporting even more immoral and unwarranted wars. This is just another example of the collusion between the government and the mainstream media. It is obvious that the media is controlled, and is complicit in government lies and propaganda.
The biggest problem though, is that this partnership between government and media easily accomplishes its nefarious goals, because the American sheep continue to huddle in fear of non-existent monsters, while they continue to support their real enemy!
