Listening to some of the “conservatives,” in the mainstream media concerning this Iran deal would drive one to believe that Iran is going to blow up the world in short order. Nothing could be further from the truth, but many in the media are better liars than anything else.
Rants like those of warmongers Krauthammer and Netanyahu are common, but they purposely leave out any truth. The deal with Iran, while very limited in scope, is an unbelievable step in the right direction. It may be the only thing that Obama has done correctly, albeit only a first step.
Iran has the inalienable right under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to enrich uranium, to develop research, production and use nuclear energy for all peaceful purposes. Iran only has to conform to Article I of that treaty which states:
“Each nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty undertakes not to transfer to any recipient whatsoever nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices or control over such weapons or explosive devices directly, or indirectly; and not in any way to assist, encourage, or induce any non-nuclear weapon State to manufacture or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices, or control over such weapons or explosive devices.”
If this deal makes it through the six month trial period unscathed, a monumental change in world relations could be the result. That is wishful thinking I know, but it is possible. If Iran were able to be seen as a sovereign country and able to trade freely, all countries involved in this treaty and many others would greatly benefit. This would not please the neocons, nor would it please Israel and Saudi Arabia, but it would definitely please Russia and China, and much of Europe would have new and better markets for energy.
If war with Iran were to take place, a world war could easily be the result, and that seems to be the desired outcome sought by Israel, Saudi Arabia and the neocons in the U.S. Without the threat of war with Iran, a real peace could be achieved, and the world would be a better place. Thankfully, Israel and Saudi Arabia are fast becoming irrelevant, and invasive U.S. foreign policy is no longer accepted by much of the world, but the danger of more war is still evident.
To hear a real and very thorough and well done debate by intelligent men about the truth of the P5+1/Iran interim agreement, listen to this interview on RT’s show Crosstalk. You will not be disappointed.
