If The Truth Be Told

General David Petraeus, warmonger, has inadvertently told the truth. I find this staggering, but then I am surprised every single day by one thing or another.

Petraeus when discussing why “we” (the government and the military industrial complex) can’t leave Afghanistan said:

“If Afghanistan can become the central Asian ’roundabout,’ to use President Karzai’s term, to where it can be the new Silk Road, think of the implications for that, recalling that, of course, Afghanistan is blessed with the presence of what are trillions, with an ‘S’ on the end, trillions of dollars worth of minerals if, and only if, you can get the extractive technology, the human capital operated, the lines of communication to enable you to get it out of the country and all the rest of that. Very big ‘if.’ And of course, there’s a foundation of security that would be necessary on, on which to build all of that. But, again, the prospects are very significant if you can achieve objectives.” — Gen. David Petraeus, Meet the Press, Sunday, August 15th, 2010

He has said a mouthful in these statements. He has advocated staying indefinitely in Afghanistan because of the trillions of dollars worth of minerals present. He did however, fail to mention that since the U.S. military has taken over the poppy fields there, a very valuable resource indeed, Afghanistan, under U.S. military control, is now supplying over 92% of all the worlds illicit opium; a fact rarely mentioned by the federal government or the military. But then, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has to fund its illegal covert operations somehow!

So he has not only indicated here that the U.S. should take a vested interest in Afghanistan’s natural resources, but he also said that “a foundation of security would be necessary,” indicating that the U.S. military should have a major presence there for an unlimited period of time. “The prospects are very significant if you can achieve objectives,” he said.

Petraeus, in this short statement, has explained that the the U.S. has a “right” to control the Afghan’s natural resources, to extract them, to transport (sell) them, and to supply the security to achieve that mission. No wonder Afghanistan was purposely targeted by the U.S. government and its military for this unwarranted and immoral war. Riches are there for the taking, and those who stand to benefit the most continue to gain massive wealth, and power over the rest of us.

U.S. wars are fought for a reason, and that reason never has anything to do with defense of country or protecting freedom. It has everything to do with power and money, and General David Petraeus, now Director of the abhorrent CIA, has exposed this deadly agenda completely.
