Today Egypt is in turmoil. That country has been taken over by a government run by the military. What we would consider Martial Law is the result, and massive protests are evident, while the streets explode into violence.
This has come due to U.S. interference and funding. The democratically elected leader Mohamed Morsi has been ousted, and military rule is the result. Civil unrest, protests, violence, surveillance, brutal state force and killings by the Egyptian military have been the result of the military coup.
The military rulers have suspended the constitution, and even though it is merely pieces of paper, it was the rule of law in Egypt. Even it it were not followed, as is the case in the U.S., total suspension means that no “legal” rules apply, and that the military rulers will have carte blanche in their brutal attempt to control that country.
Government always has a monopoly on force, but when military rule takes over, that monopoly becomes much more acute, and much more dangerous.
What is happening in Egypt will most likely happen in the U.S. in the future. There will be more war, more police and military presence, and this will most likely be due to an economic collapse. That day is coming, and few are prepared or can even imagine such a scenario in the U.S.
When civil unrest, violence and killing fills the streets of America, will you be ready?
