This past Friday, an article was published in the Wall Street Journal (War Street Journal) titled “U.S. Tightens Drone Rules.” This title is very misleading, as this article points out that drone attacks have been and still are increasing in number. In addition, most all attacks are what are called “signature attacks,” or attacks where the identities of those targeted is completely unknown.
The CIA has supposedly made concessions in the drone program due to a worsening relationship with the Pakistani government, but with these so-called concessions comes intensified attacks. Does this make sense to anyone other than a government official? CIA brass have openly stated that they want a “free hand to pursue suspected (emphasis mine) militants,” and a free hand does not a concession make. They don’t even know who they are murdering most of the time, nor do they care, so the concessions discussed in this article have little impact on the reality of unjustified killing.
Obama was an early convert to drone use, but has vastly increased the ability for the CIA to target and kill whomever it chooses. According to this article, the White House is only informed of signature attacks after they happen, but that is simply a cover for Obama. The CIA is secret, and reveals little, so this notion that the president knows nothing is convenient beyond description. If its true, then the CIA has carte blanche to murder anyone it chooses, and with executive permission, (I know, they already do) and if it is a lie, then both Obama and the CIA are complicit in the heinous slaughter of innocents with killer drones. This is diabolical to the core, and this type of mechanical killing is completely immoral, and is also criminal!
For those in this country to allow this type of behavior says a lot about the real morality of the citizens of America. Most are obviously not the saints and saviors they claim to be, so the false notion that the U.S. is a compassionate nation is fully exposed. Those who hide their heads in the sand and allow this murder to continue in the name of “stopping terrorism,” are just as much to blame as those who do the killing. This truth is not widely accepted, but it is a truth nonetheless.
