In case any have forgotten, the unwarranted war of aggression against Iraq is supposed to be over, or so the government claims. We were told that all troops would be leaving Iraq, and would be coming home. We were told that the Iraqi government (U.S. puppet government) would take charge of that country.
Has this transition been accomplished? Of course it hasn’t, but many of the troops have left Iraq. Of course, many are still there, and more importantly, very many government contractors are also still in Iraq, but they are not counted when considering the withdrawal of troops from that country.
So, did the rest of the troops come home? Well, some of them did get to come home, but there is a catch. Many of those troops were simply sent to other parts of the Middle East, especially Afghanistan, but outside of Iraq. This is where the “bait and switch and lies” comes into play.
By shifting troop locations, the government can take credit for removing soldiers from Iraq, even if they simply were just reassigned to other areas in the same region. Removing troops from Iraq, while at the same time increasing troop strength in Afghanistan and other areas in the Middle East is a way of leaving most everything in place. All that is reported is that soldiers are being taken out of Iraq as promised, but the rest of the story remains hidden from public view.
Now, as reported here, the U.S. government is planning a significant military buildup in Kuwait, with an initial deployment of 13,500 troops. This is supposedly to “respond to sudden conflicts in the region as Iraq adjusts to the withdrawal of American combat forces and the world nervously eyes Iran,” this according to a congressional report. In other words, troops will remain in the same region ready to go to Iraq or elsewhere, but won’t be physically on Iraqi soil, but Kuwait is located on the southern Iraqi border, also borders Saudi, Arabia, and is a stone’s throw from Iran. How convenient.
Add to this the fact that since the “withdrawal” of troops from Iraq began, U.S. forces now have a presence in Egypt, Libya, Yemen, and are deeply involved with the rebels in Syria. This is in addition to troops already in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Australia, and several countries in Africa. Iraq is virtually surrounded by American military forces, but don’t worry, a pullout from Iraq is now in place.
So, are U.S. troops being pulled out of the region as stated by the government, or are those troops simply being shifted around, while thousands more are being deployed to other areas in the Middle East?
The U.S. government first baited the sheep by saying troops would be withdrawn from Iraq, then switched its tactics by redeploying many of those troops to the same region, although to a different country, and now is lying about another huge buildup of the military throughout the Middle East.
Will the citizenry demand to know the truth about more planned wars? Will they question this redeployment and expansion of troops in that region? Will the government controlled mainstream media expose the truth about these government lies? Of course not! The people will continue to bury their heads in the proverbial sand, while the carnage, imperialistic warmongering, and murder of innocents continues unabated and unquestioned?
This sickens me to the core!
