Turkey scrambled two fighter jets just across the border in Syria. These jets were sent to a border town in Syria called Azmarin, supposedly in response to a Syrian army helicopter bombing in that town. This is what Reuters reported.
The landing of a Syrian civilian passenger plane in Turkey yesterday, a landing forced by Turkish military forces, was in my opinion just the beginning of more and more border fighting. The important question is who is really causing this turmoil, and is the objective to purposely stoke the fire so that the U.S. and NATO can enter a military war against Syria in order to oust Assad. That of course would in my opinion lead to a showdown with Iran, but I hope that doesn’t happen.
I am not optimistic concerning these recent events, and I think all will become clear sooner rather than later.
