To become a Transportation “Security” Administration (TSA) employee, one must have very special qualifications and experience. We’ve all heard about the “high” standards and intellect required to garner a position at TSA. We’ve all heard about the criminal background checks these prospective employees must endure to be sure that they are clean and not on the lam or depraved, right?
How have these assurances worked out so far?
There was a story over a week ago about a particular TSA hire in Philadelphia that exemplifies the perfect candidate for a job with the TSA; especially as a supervisor. Most TSA hires as far as I can tell have a very low IQ, probably one that would mirror that of a slug. (No offense meant to slugs) But sometimes, although other problems might be evident, an applicant who can stand on one foot and chew gum at the same time gets through the “tough scrutiny” of the TSA heads. Thomas Harkin is just such an employee.
Thomas Harkin, obviously a “man” of some intellect, worked as a Catholic priest in the Diocese of Camden in New Jersey until 2002. So far, so good, but something was afoul. Harkin had been removed (fired) from the Camden Diocese because he was found to have sexually abused little girls on multiple occasions. One of those was an 11 year old girl who claimed to have been molested no less than 10 to 15 times by Harkin. According to the TSA, the allegations against Harkin were so old, that no criminal charges were filed against him. This gave the green light for the hire, but actually, the church had privately settled (paid off) those victims of the two previous lawsuits. Now, another such case is pending.
I can’t speak to actual guilt or innocence, but Harkin was fired, and those who filed lawsuits against the church were paid off. In addition, Harkin refused to say that he was innocent of these allegations when given the chance by reporters. He simply snuck into the TSA secure area, and had no comment about the multiple suits.
While most will be appalled that this perverted slime was hired by the TSA, I would have to say that he fits the profile for a perfect TSA employee to a tee. My guess is that the number one requirement for a new hire would be that he or she be guilty of sexual molestation or abuse, or perverted. What better qualifications from the point of view of the TSA could any possess? After all, their job is to sexually assault the passengers by feeling them up when they board planes across the country every day.
Of course when the TSA got caught in their hiring practices, a TSA official “told the station that his (Harkin’s) title reflects that he deals mostly with luggage, not people.” How comforting!
The bottom line is that any parent that would allow their child, or themselves for that matter, to be in the presence of this depraved individual should not have the right to be a parent. The fact that his background is publicly known, and he is still in a position in the government that allows him to be involved with molesting children, says more about the sick and pathetic masses than it does about Harkin himself.
How many TSA screeners are perverted? All of them, or they could not do their job. They are sexual deviants and perverts by design, by job description, and by choice. Those who allow these assaults are a huge part of the problem, but more importantly, are simply sexual fodder for the TSA in its efforts to humiliate and intimidate the populace at large!
